MISSION STATEMENT

Sister is committed to making our gallery spaces as accessible as possible. Although we are a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organisation with building restrictions, we seek to improve the accessibility of our gallery wherever possible.

NOTE ON ACCESSIBLE PROGRAMMING

Sister exhibits a range of contemporary art spanning from sculpture objects, paintings, drawings, wall based work, screen based work, sound work, performance & dance, audience participation work, and moving image work.

As our exhibitions change every month, we encourage you to stay up to date through social media and/or our mailing list to gauge the suitability of each months\’ exhibitions. We also encourage you to talk to us or send us a message if you have any specific questions about upcoming shows.

Sister consistently prints a copy of each current floor sheet and catalogue essay that accompanies the exhibitions in large print (16 p double line spacing on A4 paper, not laminated). This copy remains in the space throughout the course of the exhibitions.

Sister also hosts a range of events alongside exhibitions that we hope can accommodate a variety of access needs. These events include but are not limited to:

• artist talks
• reading groups (or guest readers read excerpts of texts to an audience)
• film screenings (with and without dialogue, silent, only sound-based… only image-based…)
• performances (sound only, visual only, both)

Are you an artist with a disability who wants to exhibit with Sister? We encourage you to get in touch with us to discuss your exhibition ideas and your requirements.
